Why an Adventure Sports Ministry right now?
Because people are desperate for three experiences:
G1 Outdoors is here to help churches start and grow adventure sports ministries. What’s that? It’s simply using adventure sports to attract and attach people to Jesus and His Church. How do you do it? It’s not rocket science. Just get people outdoors together doing something enjoyable and naturally helps them relax, engage in conversation, and remember what it is like to unplug from electronics and plug in to God, his Creation, and his people.
The model for G1 Outdoors is Bayside Adventure Sports (BAS), which right now is hitting record numbers for day hikes, snowshoeing, kayaking, and mountain biking. These events are all run by volunteers who love these sports and have a passion for following Jesus. Over 25% of the people in our ministry are from outside our church but they don’t stay that way. After building relationships and hearing a fresh perspective about Jesus and His Church, they are thrilled to be invited to visit.
